The Legacy Continues
Dr. Geeta Iyengar and her brother, Prashant are distinguished teachers in their own right and continue the legacy of their father with the utmost integrity. They have written several books and continue to expand on the great work of their father in their own unique way. Both hold the position of director of Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute(RIMYI). Geeta started teaching in 1962 and has shared her lessons at the Institute and around the world at special conventions in the US, Canada, Australia, UK and Europe. She has written several books, along with the renown, Gem For Women, dedicated to supporting women in yoga. Prashant has several books and recorded audio recordings that expound on his depth of understanding of ancient texts and scriptures.

Abhijata has been a dedicated student of her Grandfather and now is stepping up to help carry on his legacy. Abhijata began taking her yoga studies seriously at the young age of 16. She learned directly under her maternal grandfather, Yogacharya BKS Iyengar, her aunt, Smt Geeta S Iyengar and uncle Shri Prashant Iyengar. Her practice has evolved and enabled her own style of teaching. She has accompanied her aunt Smt Geeta S Iyengar to International Yoga Conventions in UK, South Africa, Australia, Germany and USA.
